Union staff members advise student leaders with the Campus Activities Board, Music Maker Productions, Maroon Volunteer Center, the Miss MSU Program, Interfraternity Council, NPHC, Panhellenic Council, and other student organizations, and assist with the advisement of the Student Association and student publications. Leadership and other educational programs are also offered by the department.
