Program Requirements

Mentee Program Requirements

  • Mentees must be a Junior or Senior student at Mississippi State University
  • Submit online application
  • Attend Mentee Training/Kick-off Event
  • Attend a minimum of four (4) Holmes Cultural Diversity Center events per academic semester.
  • Set goals with your mentor and submit to the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center
  • Contact your mentor at a minimum of once per month. Complete monthly response/journal to share updates on mentoring relationship with the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center staff. The deadline for submitting interactions is the last day of the month. Remember, the more frequent the interaction and communication with your mentor, the more beneficial the relationship and experience.
  • Represent self, peer, the University and community with integrity and pride
  • Engage in professional and respectful communication with your mentor, as well as the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center staff. This includes email, phone conversations, and in-person conversation.
  • Report any concerns or questions regarding your mentor to the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center Staff.

Alumni Mentor Program Requirements

  • Submit the Alumni Mentor application online
  • Undergo background check
  • Complete online training module
  • Set goals with your mentee and submit to the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center
  • Engage in professional and respectful communication with your mentee. This includes email, phone conversations, video conferencing, and in-person conversation.
  • Contact your mentee at a minimum of once per month.
  • Report any concerns or questions regarding your mentor to the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center Staff.
